If you are reinstalling Microsoft 365, you have already redeemed a product key, or you are installing Microsoft 365 at work or school and know you have a license, then go to the section sign in to download and install Office.

Once you verify you have a license, anytime you need to install or reinstall Microsoft 365 you can go straight to the section below, Sign in to download Office and select the tab for steps to install on a PC or Mac. You'll sign in with your work or school account for these versions of Microsoft 365.


If Microsoft 365 seems to be taking a very long time to install, this may be caused by problems with your internet connection, firewall, or anti-virus software. For possible solutions, see Office is taking long to install.


If you're the Microsoft 365 admin of an Office for business plan, users in your organization can only install Microsoft 365 using the steps in this topic as long as your plan includes the desktop version of Microsoft 365, and you've assigned the user a license and given them permission to install Microsoft 365 (Manage software download settings in Microsoft 365).


Note: The license assigned to your account allows you to download Microsoft Office, install it on your machine, and activate it using your [email protected] account. It does not give access to Office.com online or cloud services like One Note and One Drive.


All Microsoft licenses for the software downloaded from the CUIT site are authorized every 90 days by the CUIT KMS server. For authorization, the devices must either be physically on campus or you must be logged in to the CUIT VPN.

Starting in the fall of 2014, students, faculty and staff can sign up and use Office 365 services using their ccid@ualberta.ca email addresses, including Office 365 ProPlus and OneDrive for Business. As soon as they sign up, students, faculty and staff can immediately get started with the full functionality of Office.Office 365 Education for Students, Faculty and Staff includes Office 365 ProPlus, which allows students, faculty and staff to install the latest version of Office on up to five PC or Mac computers* and on other mobile devices, including Windows tablets and the iPad. Read&Write software for Mac, Windows, or mobile apps (Android Tablet & iPad) supports students with reading, writing, studying, and research. After downloading the software, your documents, files, and web pages will be more accessible. Functionality includes a read-aloud feature, highlighting, speech maker, and more.


Oracle SQL Developer software allows you to work with an Oracle database and is available on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Oracle SQL Developer and Oracle Client are made freely available by Oracle with no license restrictions. Oracle has granted BC permission to distribute the software to BC affiliations without going through Oracle.com:


Alertus is automatically installed on BC-owned computers. It is also available to download for faculty, staff, and students on personally-owned computers. If you download the software, you will be responsible for keeping it up-to-date. Software updates will be posted on this page when available.


IT Support Center is now offering Microsoft Office 365 Education as a service to active UCLA students. Students can download, install, and use full versions of Microsoft Office for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android for free. The Microsoft Office 365 Education suite includes:


To register, students need to create a Microsoft Office 365 Education account (@PersonalMicrosoftSoftware.ucla.edu) which will be part of the username for the account and does not have a fully functioning email address associated with it. The account also comes with web versions of the Office applications that can be used without having to installing software on a computer.


In order to download and install the software, students must first create a Microsoft Office 365 Education account. Please follow all of the instructions listed in the following link to access the software: Registering for Microsoft Office 365 Education (ProPlus).


Most UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students have access to download/install Office suite - more details. Note: If you are on a departmental managed computer, contact your departmental IT support staff instead to make sure the correct version of Office is installed on your device.
